Jay's painting/drawings thread

In this thread I'm planning to shade some of my stuff, whether it's grand new or decade's old, finished or ongoing projects.

I usually paint and draw lefthanded, but sometimes switch or do both simultaneously.
If it isn't mentioned, then assume the post was done by left hand only.

Feedback is always appreciated, but be nice about it.
I'm just a happy amateur. 😁🎨

Okay, I'll start this with a few pencil drawings I found earlier.
They are not recent. Was done over 4 years ago.

This is an acrylic painting that has been collecting dust, cuz I got stuck with it/unsatisfied with the result.

Amazing work! I especially love your acrylic painting, it looks so spiritual 😍I love your style, especially how you frame the eyes with those pretty eyelashes!

#3: Thank you. 😁
Yes, eyes are one thing I always enjoyed to draw.
Prolly because they're the "window to the soul".

Yeah, didn't consider it could have spiritual feel about it, but now that you mention it, I do get an otherworldly vibe.
Is interesting that, how different one beholder can look at a painting/drawings and feel/think something different from another.

Something I like about painting is the Shading and layers, so that even the more "defined" lines get a bit smudged, or so to speak.

Another acrylic painting.
Was difficult to get a good picture of it when it's dark outside, but yeah…

#4: Yeah :) You said you were unhappy with it but maybe you feel different now, having percieved it differently, because now you view it as otherworldly? :)

#5: This one reminds me of japanese tree spirits, atleast I get that impression 🌳🍃

#6: I think what I disliked about it the most is that it feels like a cold (freezing) ocean to me. 🤔
The black canvas didn't Help with that either, though it did give it a pretty neat effect. 🙂

Meanwhile, the paining on my 5th post exudes warmth, because I used earthy and warmer colors.

#7: Oh I didn't get any ocean feelings at all, just spiritual. It's different from different percievers I guess. But I liked it :)

I see, I see!

#8: You look pretty :) and the drawing is pretty!

#9: yeah, it's more like when I started that painting I was thinking of a stormy sea, hence the blue and white shades that's illustrating waves. (Prolly it does only in my head😹)

Yeah, is fun how different one can perceive it. 😄

Thanks 😊

Wow! They're all really good! Not sure why but my favourites are first post second picture and last post first picture. They look very cool both of those characters 😎

Think it's a shame though I seem to have thrown away a lot of my old stuff, because I've had lots of others. Like the picture of the Street fighter character Vega. Hope I just misplaced it. 😔

If it is the picture I think you mean, this was the inspiration for him:

The title of the manga btw is because that character and some other in that series has an ESP talent.

Great work. I like the acrylic painting and their abstractness.

Yes, I do enjoy using acrylic colors when I paint.
Have taken a small break from it, but lately have felt more inspired to paint/draw again.
Will prolly paint something new later this evening. 😄
